Hello, I'm Sophie!  I'm the director here at Sunflower Accountancy Limited.

I started my career as a Teaching Assistant, working for a primary school with children who had special educational needs, and this was one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever done!

 

After the loss of my mum, I had a change in career path, and decided to go into accountancy. Back in 2019 I was very lucky to be offered a job at a local firm where I developed my skills, knowledge and understanding in practice alongside studying.

After qualifying as an accountant, I took the leap to start my own accountancy practice. I wanted to do more to help small-medium enterprise limited companies develop and grow their business, without the need to worry about dealing with their "boring" and time consuming company compliance, as well as providing tax advice and support to ensure that company owners are getting the most from their company.

​

When I'm not in the office, I spend time helping my dad with his farm animals and ongoing 'projects' - whether that's building a new shed or making new bits of equipment, there is always something on the go! In the summer months (well, depending on the weather!) I become chief telehandler driver and part-time mechanic when hay-making and silaging, helping to ensure we get the crops in before the rain comes.  And, if that's not enough to keep me busy, I am also an avid Formula 1 fan, with most Sunday afternoons dedicated to supporting the talented drivers and teams.
